Lake Göygöl is a road with delightful views in Azerbaijan
Lake Göygöl is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 1.556m (5,104ft) above the sea level, located in the region of Ganja-Gazakh, in the western part of Azerbaijan.
The lake, which literally means "the Blue Lake", lies within the Goygol National Park. Due to its beauty, the lake has been an inspiration for many novels, poems and music bands. The road to the summit is largely well sealed if occasionally steep. The drive is definitely worth it. A drive not to be missed! There are many excellent photo opportunities. The drive offers delightful views of weird Mt Kyapaz and its attractive forest scenery.
