Five Things to Do On the Roads of Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is a state located in Appalachian, Great lakes, northeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. It is run through the middle by the Appalachian Mountains. This a commonwealth, not a state. In this part, not everything is taxed. The on-ramps of this part are always a surprise to a lot of people. The cities in this state operate under Mayors.
There are up to about 1,546 townships in Pennsylvania. Mailing addresses in this part of the commonwealth don’t always match the municipalities. In case one wants to be a citizen, you have to pay local earned income tax and local earned tax annually to the municipality in which you want to reside. Pennsylvania has some of the best roads in the world.
These are some of the longest roads, but according to research, about thirty percent of the roads are bad. This has led to troubles in the funding of the road network from the Pennsylvania government. There are things when on these roads one has to do and also some rules to follow. There are also many tourist attractions sites in the area, and there are five things that have to be done on the Pennsylvania roads. On the roads there are byways, and there is always something interesting in every few miles. These roads and byways have led to many tourists visiting the area, therefore, earning the country some revenue to expand on some of these sites.

The department of transportation in Pennsylvania established byways in early 2001 to identify and mark places with cultural, scenic, recreational, natural qualities and outstanding features throughout the commonwealth and archaeological sites. Most of these sites have been mapped on the newly updated maps since some of them have been recently discovered.
Things to do and see along the byway
1. The drive
This is a must-see as you pass through these roads. In the early 19th and 20th century the Susquehanna river was known as the historic Clearfield Country. This served as the common transport that fueled Pennsylvania once a vibrant economy. Some of these roads and byways were named after these rivers due to their historical significance. They were also the main attractions in the early 19th century that brought income to the country. It is a beautiful and scenic location.
2. McGees Mills covered bridge
This is the only bridge that is covered while using the road. It is the only bridge being used to this date. The 122ft single span burr arch truss bridge was built in 1873 by Thomas A.McGee. The bridge was built using hand hewed white pine timbers from the same area at the cost of $175. This was the last of its own to be built until today. Thousands of rafts were seen under the bridge until the last one left 1938. This bridge was listed along with one of the historic places in 1980 and renovated in 1944 after it collapsed due to ice and snow. This is one of the most photographic scenes which is also located at the start of the byway. This is a great family retreat center up to date. 3. Bilger’s rocks
Millions of years ago, before the earth took its shape, before settlers and before Indians, a city was built outside Grampian. This old city was made of massive rocks like no other, and it took up a space of twenty acres. The rocks are five stories high and twenty feet thick. These rocks came to be by a process known as frost wedging. This causes boulders to break away and create numinous caverns. This site offers campsites, concert arenas, pavilions, concession stand, and a place of recreational activities that are open every weekend.
4. Curwensville Lake
This is a reservoir just located south of Curwensville. This came to be due to the construction of the Curwensville dam, which was located to the north. The dams were built due to floods that used to affect the west side of Curwensville, affecting the day to day activities of the people, and this also affected many buildings that were weakened by the massive waters. This led to a flood control act that was passed on September 8 in 1954 due to the floods on the west side river basin. The dam was estimated to have cost about $ 20,400,000 to build. This offers many opportunities to entertain a family. Hiking, boating, biking, fishing, and camping are just but a few activities that can be done here. Visitors can also bring their boats being no horsepower rule on the lake, and they can spend their time fishing.
5. Denny’s beer barrel club
Denny and Jean Liegey founded this club in September 1977. They started by making giant hamburgers. This was not to sell at high prices but to attract attention and customers from the area and also to create a healthy and friendly working condition for all. This was also to make patrons from all over the country and make them want to come back for more. Denny is nationally known as the best in the world’s largest hamburger challenges that used to be shown countrywide. Having been featured on many TV shows, many people wanted to have a taste of this large hamburgers. This lead to a lot of visitors from other parts of the country and also other countries to visit his place. In this place, they can make two-pound burgers that are of good quality and fresh products that make the consumers come back for more every time.

Pennsylvania roads may be poor, but there are a lot of sites that are to be seen in the area. This was just but a few sites that are on the roads. There are many more geographic and photographic sites on the roads, including parks. However, some have been asking whether it is safe to visit US national parks. Pennsylvania is a place that one would not think otherwise when given a chance to travel. When going to Pennsylvania, I would advise tourists to take a copy of the newly updated maps in order not to get lost on their ways. A tour guide is also a good idea since the guide knows on all the best spots that you can visit while you are there, but that will be for a small fee as agreed upon before the departure of the journey. The Pennsylvania government is also working on direct flights to their country for easier access to their country. This is for sure a place I would highly recommend people to visit while on vacation.
