Grand Tour Winners by Year: Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta a España
The Grand Tours — the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta a España — are the three most important stage races in professional cycling. Each lasts three weeks (21 stages) and includes a mix of flat stages, mountain stages, and time trials. They award the highest number of UCI World Tour points, making them more prestigious than any other races on the calendar.
Winning one of these races is considered the greatest achievement in road cycling. Many of the sport’s most famous riders built their careers around success in the Grand Tours, and the history of these races reflects the evolution of modern cycling.
