Ferndale Scenic Circle 4x4 Route
Ferndale Scenic Circle 4x4 Route is a 18.7km loop located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Vehicles need good ground clearance. The trail goes through some of the highest peaks in the Henderson Heights range.
Due its unique location and passing through remote areas, it is important when driving in these conditions to be prepared. The temperatures are extreme, the countryside untouched and the people warm and friendly. Although the trail is open all year round, it should be noted that winters become extremely cold here, sometimes with snowfall. This route requires low range and high clearance vehicles. 4x2 vehicles with diff lock are welcome. This one is tough on vehicle and driver, so only attempt it if you fancy a grinding, bumpy ride and a struggle.
