Maydh-Erigavo road

The road from Maydh to Erigavo is not a Sunday drive

Located in the Sanaag region of Somaliland, in northern Somalia, the road from Maydh to Erigavo is a very challenging drive.

Located in the Al Madow mountain range, the road is totally unpaved. It’s 77.5 km (48.15 miles) long, running from Maydh, an ancient port city in the eastern Sanaag region to Erigavo (Ceerigaabo), in the central Sanaag region of Somaliland. 4x4 vehicle required. It tops out an elevation of 2.067m (6,781ft) above the sea level. The road features many tunnels and hairpin turns.
