Adventure along the wild road to Poelela lake
Lagoa Poelela is a lake with turquoise waters located in the district of Inharrime, province of Inhambane, in southern Mozambique.
Located north east of Maputo, the road to the lake is totally unpaved. It’s called Lagoa Poelela Road. A 4x4 vehicle is required. This track can get very muddy and slippery after rain making it challenging to get through. The lagoon is a unique, totally unspoiled, inland waterway surrounded by a few dormant villages and vast coconut plantations. Starting from Siane, the road to the lake is 9.0 km (5.59 miles) long.
