Tizi-n'Ouadi pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.934m (9,625ft) above the sea level, located in the High Atlas Mountains, in the Marrakesh-Tensift-El Haouz region of Morocco, near Jebel Toubkal. It’s one of the highest mountain roads of Morocco.
The road to the summit starts asphalted in the Oukaïmeden ski resort, but turns into gravel and sand suddenly. The road still remains an adrenaline-pumping journey and is definitely not for the faint of lungs, heart, or legs. It’s a 4x4 track, but some pics show 2wd cars near the summit. There are 7 hairpin turns.
There are 2 routes to reach the summit. Starting from Ourika River Valley, the ascent is 35.61 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 1.911 meters. The average percentage is 5.3 % and the maximum slope is 15 %. And starting from Ourika Valley, the ascent is 36.85 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 1.945 meters. The average percentage is 5.2 % and the maximum slope is 12 %.
