Tizi n’Aguerd n’Zegzaoun

Tizi n’Aguerd n’Zegzaoun, one of the highest roads of Morocco

Aguerdn’Zegzaoun Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.639m (8,658ft) above the sea level, located in Drâa-Tafilalet region of central Morocco. It’s one of the highest mountain roads of Morocco.

The road to the pass, also known as Aguerd n’ Zigzagoon pass, is a gravel track. 4x4 vehicle recommended. After periods of rain the track can be in a very bad condition. Near the summit there's a mountain refuge.
Watch out for sudden loose-gravel breaks. And that pavement can ripple like a roller coaster track in places where “frost heaves” are caused by seasonal freezing and thawing of the ground. The surface on this gravel road is often loose, especially along the sides of the road. The road is winding, in some places only wide enough for one vehicle.
