Menoaneng Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.038m (9,967ft) above the sea level, located in the Mokhotlong district, in Lesotho. At this altitude is not for the faint of heart.
The road to the summit is gravel and pretty steep. This road tests the skill, and courage, of any driver. It’s definitely not for anyone suffering from vertigo or a fear of landslides. Because the road is quite degraded and not very well maintained, this pass definitely requires 4×4 skills. It’s one of the highest road passes of Lesotho.
The drive is definitely worth it. A drive not to be missed! There are many excellent photo opportunities. The climb offers a great scenery with many mountain villages and rondavels, and a stunning view across Lesotho’s central mountain highlands.
