Mokhoabong Pass

Mokhoabong Pass

Mokhoabong Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.900m (9,514ft) above the sea level, located in the central highlands of western Lesotho. It's one of the highest mountain roads of the country.

The road over the sometimes-tricky Mokhoabong Pass is called A3, and is located between the towns of Mantsonyane and Thaba-Tseka.

The road is pretty curvy and mostly asphalted, with the odd exception of about 100m which seems to be in a spot shaded permanently by steep mountain sides where winter water runs over the road, freezes and destroys the asphalt.
