Where is Tizi-n-Kouilal?

The pass, also known as Tizi-n-Qellal, is located on the boundary between Tizi Ouzou and Bouïra provinces, in the northern part of the country, within the Djurdjura National Park.

Is Tizi-n-Kouilal paved?

The road through the pass is fully paved. It’s called N30 road. It comprises many curves and hairpin turns, steep sections and narrow parts.

How long is the road to Tizi-n-Kouilal?

The pass is 36km long, north-south from Iboudraren (a town and commune in Tizi Ouzou Province) to M'Chedallah (a town and commune in Bouïra Province). The drive is scenic, with many peaks and hillsides covered with cedar forests.

Is the road to Tizi-n-Kouilal open in winters?

Set high in the Djurdjura Mountains, the road is open year-round, but snow is not uncommon in the winter months.
