What are the most spectacular roads in Mauritius?

Located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, at the southern part of Africa, to the east of Madagascar, Mauritius is a small country island covering about 2,040 square kilometers. It consists of the main island of Mauritius, and several smaller islands. The island is known for its biodiversity, including endemic plant and animal species.

The country hosts many spectacular roads, especially coastal drives, as the country's terrain is mostly comprised of coastal plains, with a central plateau rising gradually to mountains in the southwest. B9 is a tremendous coastal road skirting the Indian Ocean, with some mind-blowing landscapes. Another great option is Driving across the scenic Black River Gorges NP, linking Rivière Noire and Savanne districts.

Located on the south coast of Mauritius, the B9 road is a must do. It’s a tremendous coastal road, with some mind-blowing landscapes. On the left side of the road is a wild vegetation and the right a beautiful beach. It's one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world.

Linking Rivière Noire and Savanne districts of Mauritius, the road through the Black River Gorges National Park is a very challenging drive.
