Camino 6 de septiembre: a curvy and challenging mountain road

Ruta Provincial 54 (Camino 6 de septiembre) is a curvy mountainous road which rarely permit speeds over 30km/h, located in the scenic Punilla Valley, Córdoba Province, Argentina, with a total length of 26.6km. The road climbs the Pan de Azucar mountain pass, at an elevation of 1.260m (4,133ft) above the sea level.

This sealed and unsealed road starts at Villa Allende, a city in the center of Córdoba Province, in the department of Colón. The track climbs the Pan de Azucar mountain pass, which belongs to Sierras Chicas mountain range. After 26.6km, this track ends at Cosquín, the oldest town in the scenic Punilla Valley, at an elevation of 719m (2,359ft) above the sea level.

This dirt track was built in 1931. The surface of the road is paved for some kilometers but then turns into gravel and sand. Chains or snow tyres can be required anytime. This road is usually open all year, but it can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow.
