San Joaquin Road

San Joaquín is a mountain town in the Queretaro state, within the heart of the Sierra Gorda mountains, in Mexico.

The town offers great attractions to tourists, such as two natural caves for visit, two archeological sites from ancient unknown pre-Columbian civilization and great views of the Sierra Mountains, such as small cascades, cliffs, overviews and even tunnels.
The main access road offers a unique landscapes from deserts to forests and big stunning mountains to contemplate. First, at the junction of Mexico 120, and then to San Joaquín the road goes from 1.470 meters above sea level in a desert canyon to a scenic forest mountain area at 2.450 masl in San Joaquín. It’s 1.000 meters of elevation gain in just 43 kilometers.
