The unpaved Bajada a Zirupa

Bajada a Zirupa is a gravel mountain road, with a length of 29.5km, nestled in the mountains of the northwestern Mexican state of Chihuahua.

Bajada a Zirupa

The road starts from the town of Madera, at an elevation of 2,200m above the sea level, and ends at Zirupa, a small town at 1,492m above the sea level. The surface of the road is unpaved, and chains or snow tyres can be required anytime. Although it can be a reasonably easy drive in favourable conditions it also has the potential to be a very difficult track and at times impassable after wet weather.
