Whiteswan Lake Forest Service Road is a very scenic journey in southeastern British Columbia, Canada. Be aware of the narrow winding sections.

Whiteswan Lake Forest Service Road

The road is gravel. It’s 32km long running from BC-93 (Kootenay Highway) towards White River Forest Service Road. It is accessible during the summer season with any vehicle. The road is very narrow in some sections necessitating excellent driving skills. Extreme care must be taken when driving the canyon portion (km 15 to km 18). Turn your headlights on. Be aware that mine ore trucks and oversized loaded logging trucks are on the route. Always give them the right of way. The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views.

Located in the Kootenay Ranges of the Rocky Mountains, within the Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park, the road is a delight to drive, with every kind of twist and turn. The journey is well worth the effort. This road can get a bit busy on the weekends. Moose, elk, deer, grizzly and black bears are common. The drive is surrounded by high, craggy mountain peaks.  Weather can change rapidly, be prepared. There is no cell phone service at Whiteswan Park.
