Exploring the Thrilling A-1604: Puerto del Serrablo's Picturesque Road Through the Pyrenees

Carretera A-1604 is a very exciting road in the province of Huesca, Aragon, in Spain. The road is very scenic running along the Guarga River.

How long is A-1604 road?

Located on the northeastern part of the country, the road is 50.8 km (31.56 miles) long. It’s paved in very bad conditions with potholes, and pretty narrow in parts. The road tops out at 1.295m (4,248ft) above the sea level by Puerto del Serrablo.

Where does A-1604 road start and end?

Located in the Sobrarbe comarca, in the heart of the Aragon Pyrenees, the road runs west-east from the small town of Lanave (E7 road) towards Boltaña (N260 road). It’s also known as Carretera de la Guarguera.

Is A-1604 road defiant?

The last part of the road is pretty hairy, with some hairpin turns and very steep, with dangerous drop offs. Caravans are not recommended. Road with little traffic. It’s used by motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world. The road has featured in the Spanish Vuelta race. It’s steep in parts, hitting a 13.7% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
