The scenic TF-21 is totally paved and crosses the island from corner to corner. It’s extremely curvy, with hundreds of turns, running across the scenic Teide National Park. It is an absolutely beautiful road, with many different turns and twists, almost without traffic.
It’s 79.3 km (49.27 miles) long, and runs south-north from Granadilla de Abona to La Orotava.
It’s a high mountain road, topping out at 2,361m (7,746ft) above sea level. It’s one of the highest roads of Spain. In winters, it can be closed due to hail and icy patches.
To drive the road without stopping will take most people between 2 and 2.5 hours. However, due to its beauty, the drive will take much longer.
