Festkogl

Festkogl is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.898m (9,507ft) located in the Ötztal Alps in Tyrol, Austria. It's one of the highest roads of Europe.

The road to the summit is extreme. Only 4x4. Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. It’s a very demanding challenge. Impassable in winters, the road to the mountain station is gravel with some rocky sections. The climb is very tough and very steeply rising. Departing in Obergurgl, the ascent is 7km. Over this distance the elevation gain is 1.009m and the average gradient is 14%. But the final part is over 16%.
