
Passo d’Eira is a high mountain pass, at an elevation of 2.209m (7248ft) above the sea level, which lies between the Foscagno Pass and Livigno itself in the province of Sondrio (Italy). Here lies the village of Trepalle, part of Livigno municipality, and one of Europe's highest inhabited parishes.
The pass is located on the road between Livigno and Trepalle, and belongs to the Alps.
Although both sides of the pass are in the same country, Italy, you are required to pass through customs at the top. This is due to the duty free status of Livigno.
To reach the pass there are 2 possible ways. Starting from San Antonio, the Passo d'Eira ascent is 6.66 km long. Over this distance, you climb 394 heightmeters. The average percentage is thus 5.9 %. And starting from Ponte del Rezz, the Passo d'Eira ascent is 2.98 km long. Over this distance, you climb 189 heightmeters. The average percentage is thus 6.3 %.
