Ursoaia Pass: a challenging road to the summit
Pasul Ursoaia is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.324m (4,343ft) above the sea level located on the Cluj County and Alba County border.
The road to the summit is called Transursoaia Road (DN1R). It’s located within the Parcul Natural Apuseni. It’s mostly paved with some gravel sections. It’s curvy and steep. Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. It’s pretty steep.
