Pasul Buzău is a mountain pass at an elevation of 642m (2,106ft) above the sea level, located in the Eastern Carpathians in Romania.
Situated in the southeastern region of the country, Buzau Pass acts as a bridge between Buzău County in Muntenia and Covasna County in eastern Transylvania. Historically, it served as a strategic route for invaders like the Turks and Tatars who sought to attack Transylvania.
The road through Buzau Pass, known as the DN10, meanders through the Buzău Mountains, a subrange of the Eastern Carpathians. Stretching for 21.8 km (13.54 miles) from Cașoca in the south to Crasna in the north, the road is fully paved, ensuring relatively smooth travel, although its curvy nature calls for attentive driving.
