DN73A, a curvy road with 12 steep hairpin turns

Located in Brasov county, in Transylvania, Romania, the national road DN73A is a really awesome drive with 12 steep hairpin turns.

DN73A

The road, nicknamed as Paraul Rece (Cold Stream) Road, is totally paved. It’s 21km (13.04 miles) long, and runs north-southeast from Râșnov to Predeal, the highest town in the country, at an elevation of over 1,000 m, located in the Prahova Valley.

The road is very curvy and steep, topping out at 1.127m (3,697ft) above the sea level, with 12 steep hairpin turns. The drive hits a 22% through some of the ramps. It can be very dangerous in winter and the road condition is decent, needing a lot of patching after every winter. The road also has awesome views of the Bucegi and Postavarul massifs.
