Pasul Ghimeşului is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.154m (3,786ft) above the sea level, located in Harghita County, Romania.
Set high in the Eastern Carpathians range, the road to the pass is paved (bad conditions). It’s called DN12A. The summit is home to Făgeţel Monastery, built in 1901, dedicated to "The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist".
Located in the central part of the country, the pass is 83.0 km (51.57 miles) long, running west-east from Miercurea Ciuc (Harghita County) to Comănești (in Bacău County).
