Pasul Prislop is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1,416m (4,646ft) above sea level located on the boundary between Maramureș, Bistrița-Năsăud, and Suceava counties in Romania.

Is the Road to Prislop Pass Paved?

Set high in the Eastern Carpathians, in the northern part of the country, the road to the summit is fully paved and is called National Road 18 (DN18). The road has potholes on the eastern side and is steep in parts, reaching a maximum gradient of 6.6% through some of the ramps.

How Long is Prislop Pass?

The pass is 43.7 km long, running west-east from Borșa to Fluturica. It connects the historical regions of Maramureş and Bukovina over the Rodna Mountains. The views are spectacular, especially in early summer and late spring.
