FYR Macedonia

 

The Restelicë-Volkovija border is an international high mountain border at an elevation of 1.628m above the sea level located in the Kosovo-Republic of Macedonia border.

Popova Šapka is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1,780 metres (5,840 ft) above the sea level in the Republic of Macedonia. It’s home of military base of the Macedonian Army & meteorological station.

 

Narrow asphalted road with a length of 14,6km, climbing up to the Kozjak Hydro Power Plant, a large hydroelectric power plant on the river Treska which creates an artificial lake Kozjak, the largest in Republic of Macedonia. The lake It is located in the western part of the country in the municipality of Makedonski Brod.

 

Galicica Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.660m (5,446 ft) above the sea level, located in southwestern Republic of Macedonia.

Bistra Lake is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 1.827m (5,994ft) above the sea level, located in the mountainous region of northwestern Republic of Macedonia.

 

Road P504 is an amazing road located in southwestern Republic of Macedonia. The road links two lakes and is 27.2km long. It’s closed in winters. There are a lot of twists and turns on this mountain road but the nature and views are spectacular.

 

Stogovo is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.900m (6,233ft) above the sea level, located in the western part of the Republic of Macedonia.

 

Zare Lazarevski is a ski resort at an elevation of 1.663m (5,456ft) above the sea level, located  in the mountainous region of northwestern Republic of Macedonia.

 

Located in the heart of the Balkans, in southeastern Europe, Republic of Macedonia is an elevated plateau surrounded by mountains. This landlocked country is bordered by Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Kosovo. Its climate is continental. Two mountain systems cut through the region: the Pindus and the Ródope.
