Situated high in the northeastern part of the country, near the Russian border, the road to the summit is entirely unpaved, with parts washed out and deep potholes. A 4x4 vehicle with high clearance is required.

Is the road to Gudamakari Pass open?

Set high in the Caucasus mountain range, the road is seasonally impassable in winter and usually opens from June through September. After rains, the road becomes impassable.

How long is the road through Gudamakari Pass?

Located to the west of the iconic Chkhatiskari Waterfall, the pass is 18.1 km (11.24 miles) long, running south-north from Chokhi to Juta.
