A paved road to Pass of the Republic
Pass of the Republic is a mountain pass at an elevation of 700m (2,297ft) above the sea level, located on the boundary of Stara Zagora and Veliko Tarnovo provinces, in central Bulgaria.
Located in the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina), the road to the summit, also known as Hainboaz Pass, is paved. It’s very curvy but pretty wide. It’s called Road 55.
The pass is 33.8 km (21 miles) long and runs north-south from Вонеща вода to Gurkovo. The road was constructed in the 1960s. The summit hosts a bar.
