Albania

SH20 is the name of the sharply winding and precipitous ascent in a steep and narrow zig-zag road in the northwestern part of Albania.

 

SH75 is a truly amazing road. With beautiful landscapes, it’s pretty challenging and  one of the most beautiful roads Albania has to offer. The road is to be avoided. It is currently in very bad shape. However, if necessary, it is passable.

SH-21

SH21 is a spectacular and dangerous high mountain road located in the northwestern tip of Albania. The road is 57.2 km long and links the municipalities of Koplik and Theth. The road climbs up the Thore-Pass. Your wheels will be astounded at the wonderful views of the mountains spread out before you! They are terrible for drivers who are prone to vertigo

 

Krraba Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 800m above the sea level, located in the center of Albania, in Kodrat e Krrabës (Krraba Hill).



The road that links Tirana and Elbasan is E852. A hairy route, without guard rails, very high, badly maintained with high volume of heavy truck traffic and with Albanian drivers, who like to drive fast and dangerously.

 

The Fir of Hotova National Park loop road is an epic adventure in the heart of the Morava Mountain Range, in southern Albania. The road is in rough shape and requires a 4x4. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. It shouldn’t be attempted by those who don't know how to reverse. 

Driving along the coastal road from Orikum to Dhermi you will pass through the famous Llogara Pass (Qafa e Llogarasë – in Albanian), a spectacular winding road, rising up to 1,043m and overlooking the Ionian coast of the Albanian Riviera. This is the highest point on the main coastal road between Vlore and Sarande. The pass is traversed by SH-8 road. It's one of the best coastal drives in the world.

 

Guri i Kalorit is a mountain pass at an elevation of 2,841 ft (866m) above the sea level, located in the center of Albania, on the border between Tirana and Elbasan

 

Thore Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.685m (5,528 ft) above the sea level, located the Albanian Alps, in the northwestern tip of Albania. The pass is traversed by the infamous SH21 road.

 

Fier - Fratar road is an asphalted road located in southwestern Albania. The road is to be avoided. It is currently in very bad shape. However, if necessary, it is passable.

 

Nikç Road is a short high mountain road leading to Nikç, a small town located in the Kelmend municipality, Malësi e Madhe District, Shkodër County, northern Albania.

 

SH 36 is a terrible high mountain road located in northeastern Albania. The road is in dreadful condition and requires strong nerves to negotiate it. It’s certainly breathtaking and it has a fearsome reputation. The road includes more than 40 hairpin turns.

Qafë Thanë is a mountain pass at an elevation of 933m (3,061ft) above the sea level, located in the southeastern Albanian mountains, close to the border between Albania and the Republic of Macedonia.

 

SH8 is one of the world's best coastal drives. It’s a newly surfaced road along the Albanian coast offering one of the most scenic and spectacular views along the Adriatic and Ionian coasts. The highest point of the road is Llogara Pass.

Qafe e Malit Shoshit is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.213m (3,979ft) above the sea level, located in Shkodër County, in northwestern Albania.

 

Qafa e Morinës is an international mountain pass at an elevation of 563m located in the Albanian mountains along the border between Albania and Kosovo.

 

Qafë Barit is a mountain pass at an elevation of 968m above the sea level, located in Shkodër County, in northern Albania.

 

Qafë Botë is an international high mountain pass at an elevation of 142m above the sea level located in the Albanian mountains along the border between Albania and Greece.

 

Qafa e Asters is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 898m above the sea level, located in northern Albania.
