Road A303

The A303 road is a very exciting journey in the heart of western Mongolia. The route involves crossing the Baidrag river without a bridge.

A303

The road is mostly asphalted. This trail passes through remote areas, so you need to be prepared. It’s 388 km long and links Bayankhongor (the capital of the Bayankhongor Province) and Altai (the capital of the Govi-Altai province). Heavy snowfalls can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice.
Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. The route involves crossing the Baidrag river without a bridge. Especially treacherous when the river is flooded. To cross the river there are tractors on both sides of the river, to pull out the cars from side to side.
