A steep paved road with 55 switchbacks to Jabal Sabir

Jabal Sabir is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,883m (9,458ft) above sea level, located in the southern part of the Taiz Governorate, in the Janad region of Yemen.

Is the road to Jabal Sabir paved?

Set high in the southwestern part of the country, in the Yemeni highlands, the road to the summit, also known as Jabal Saber, is fully paved but quite challenging, with 55 sharp hairpin turns. It is called 412 Road (or Saber Road). The climb is steep in parts, reaching a 15% maximum gradient through some of the ramps.

How long is Jabal Sabir?

The pass is 44.2 km (27.46 miles) long, running from Taiz, the third-largest city in Yemen, to Ad Dimnah.
