Driving the hairpinned N6 Road to Aqabat Thirah in Yemen

Aqabat Thirah is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.283m (7,490ft) above the sea level located on the boundary of Al Bayda’ and Abyan Governorates, in Yemen.

 Set high on the southwestern part of the country, the defiant road to the summit, also known as Lawdar Pass, is called N6. It’s a spectacular drive, with extremely steep sections, countless turns and 34 sharp switchbacks. It’s one of the most hairpinned roads in the world, The pass is 50km (31.06 miles) long, running from Owen Al-Down to Al Ayn. Ideal time to travel is daylight. Not adviced night drive.
