Dare to drive the dangerous Tizi n'Ouadi

Tizi-n'Ouadi is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.950m (9,678ft) above the sea level, located in the Marrakesh-Tensift-El Haouz region of Morocco, near Jebel Toubkal. It’s one of the highest roads of Morocco.

Tizi n'Ouadi

Nestled in the High Atlas Mountains range, the road to the summit, also known as Tizi n' Ou Addi is pretty challenging. It’s called P2030 and starts paved from the Oukaïmeden ski resort, but suddenly turns into gravel and sand. It’s a 4x4 track, but some pics show 2wd cars near the summit. There are 7 hairpin turns on the way up. It’s impassable from November to June. Starting from Oukaïmeden ski resort, the road is 5.7 km (3.54 miles) long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 325 meters. The average gradient is 5.70%, hitting a brutal 15 % through some of the ramps.
