Aguerdn’Zegzaoun Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.639m above the sea level, located in the Taroudant Province of the Souss-Massa-Drâa region of Morocco. It’s one of the highest mountain passes of Morocco.
The road to the pass, also known as Aguerd n’ Zigzagoon pass, is extreme. It’s a gravel track just for 4x4. After periods of rain the track can be in a very bad condition.
Watch out for sudden loose-gravel breaks. And that pavement can ripple like a roller coaster track in places where “frost heaves” are caused by seasonal freezing and thawing of the ground. The surface on this gravel road is often loose, especially along the sides of the road. The road is winding, in some places only wide enough for one vehicle, and in many places bordered by a drop of hundreds of meters (many hundreds of feet) unprotected by guardrails.
