Ras Dashen is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.277m (14,032ft) above the sea level, located in the Gondar, Amhara Region, in Ethiopia. It is one of the highest driveable mountain roads in Africa.
The road to the summit, located within the Simien Mountains National Park, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The mountain is also known as Ras Dejen and Ras Dashan. The mountain is often place to violent snowfalls during the night. Menacing desert terrain with numerous steep, rocky climbs. Large, sharp rocks require tight maneuvering, increasing the likelihood of tire damage. High clearance, skid plates and differential lockers required. No stock vehicles.
